Until I See You Again

She opened her eyes to see the world.
The beautiful colours that made her day,
The greens of the lawns,
Melting into the blues of the skies,
Blurring into the pinks and the peaches,
As the Sun retired for the Moon to play.
The cool beach sands captivated her.
How the waves made the sands forget the letters
Written on them by the seashore.
Soon the blues became greys, the greens turned dull,
All that was left was a blurry image.
One she couldn’t clear.
As the stories of her sight were coming to an end,
She saw him.
He became a lens she could see through.
Through Him, she saw the world she had missed.
His words gave life to the colours she couldn't see.
He pulled her up,
From the darkness that had captured her.
With time, she realised her lens had many cracks.
Cracks that needed time to be filled.
Time he had spent with her.
She didn’t notice them earlier,
So she had been selfish.
Time started connecting his cracks.
Now the cracks were bigger.
Her lens was about to break.
She wouldn’t be able to bear it if he breaks.
"You want a break?" He asked. "Why?"
"I’m pulling you down and it hurts me."
"You’re not the reason why all this is happening."
"I am, and you know I’m right." She said.
"How much time do you need? I’ll wait."
"Until I see you again, we can’t be together."
They both knew that meant never.
As she sailed away on her sea of tears,
To a land far away from him,
His words replayed in her mind,
"As long as I have my sight,
And even when I don't,
I will always see only you."
