A Thankful Son

Each year has a flow,
It starts with hope and usually ends with a wish.
The previous year ended on a low,
But this year his dream was a great finish.

In January, he wrote his list,
And had faith something big would happen.
In all he did, he put in his best,
But the favor received, He could never imagine.

God turned his works of art to Gold,
He took his name to the nations.
And when he thought he was too old,
God shattered all limitations.

Now as the year comes to a close,
He’s seen as a great achiever.
But when what’s expected is for him to boast,
He cannot but praise his Maker.
